Garbage cans, tic-tacs, newspaper, brooms, sand, sinks, sticks, rubber tubing, old automotive parts, fifty-five gallon drums… What do these things have in common?
I saw them yesterday. In Ottawa. In rhythm. To a beat. In crazy ways. STOMP.
Talk about talent! For an hour and forty minutes I sat captivated by the percussive sounds of banging, sweeping, ripping, dripping, clicking, and slapping. It was, as I continuously exclaimed throughout the performance, “too fun!”

flashback…
Sunday after church. A picnic first and then an outing in Canada. For what reason? I was not told but from the excitement filling her, I knew it had to be good. Sunday morning I stood in the kitchen as she made subs. Here is the ensuing conversation:
her: “I hope my allergies don’t act up again. Last time I went to see STOMP I had an allergy attack.”
me: (still knowing today’s events are meant to be a surprise) “Did you just tell me what we’re doing today?”
her: (pause…thinking…looking at me…) “uh…yeah…I just told you.”
me: =)
