camp

My summer endeavor will begin in two days - Tuesday. I will spend my last free day with friends in Potsdam, and on Tuesday morning I will begin summer work at Beaver Camp. It's exciting, nerve-wracking, and wonderful all at the same time. We have a great theme this summer:

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Love as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord." Ephesians 5:8-10

Wow - so many things to say about this verse; so many avenues to explore, and so many truths to glean from it. I will spend the next three weeks living and breathing this verse. It will be on my mind when I wake, when I sleep, and when I purpose to forget about it. That's what happens when you write a week long devotional for summer campers. And I love every minute of it. I love that it submerges me completely in the Word. I love that it gives me opportunity to ask and explore. It gets tiresome at times; it gets redundant and hard to focus, but in the end I can honestly say that I loved every minute of His Divine Word.
