After a traditional Dominican breakfast (baked plantains, scrambled eggs with veggies, fried spam, bread, jam, fruit juice, and coffee) we piled into our bus and rode 45 minutes to our work-site. As expected, the Dominican workers were not yet at the site, so we decided to wait inside the house and begin praying for the day.
We spent the next few hours praying for and ministering to one another. It was a great time to unite as a team and ready ourselves in the spirit. At lunchtime we met our amazing cook for the week - and believe me, amazing is an understatement! =)
We ended the day with more prayer and worship, this time - led by our team leader. Although we did not complete physical work today, we set some major building blocks in the spiritual realm. God is so good like that.
