Prayer request

The college leader and his wife were scheduled to have their fourth baby in a few weeks. Brietta, the mother, went in for a routine check-up two days ago and the doctors found the baby's heart racing to over 250 beats per minute. The hospital called in a specialist team from Syracuse and they performed an emergency c-section to save the baby. To make a long story short, the baby (Aubrey) was flown medivac to Syracuse for diagnostic tests to see what was causing the heart to race (since everything else about Aubrey was normal - her APGAR was 8.3. The father (Daniel) is in Syr. now with Aubrey. The doctors diagnosed Aubrey as having a congenital heart defect - one whole quarter of her heart is not working, making the other parts pump and receive blood much faster than the body can handle. This defect developed around two months in-utero but none of the ultrasounds picked it up. That said, Brietta is still here in the hospital recovering and Daniel is in Syr. with Aubrey. Extensive surgery needs to be performed sooner rather than later because Aubrey's body will not survive under so much stress much longer.

Please pray for Daniel and Brietta - It is hard for Brietta to be separated from her newborn as well as her husband in such circumstances. It is also hard for Daniel to be separated from his wife. Please pray as Daniel and Brietta have three children still at home (all under the age of 5). Brietta is the daughter of our pastor so this is greatly affecting our church as well. Please also pray for finances as everything about this delivery and treatment is much more costly than normal. And above all, pray for Aubrey and the doctors as they work to save her and correct the problem with her heart - that Aubrey would be given strength from on high to make it though and that the doctors and surgeons would have wisdom, patience, guidance, and divine healing as their portion.

These people are dear to me - they are an amazing couple who never cease to serve the church and others willingly. please pray for them.
