honor

Honor them, we do
in a meager gym
with red folding chairs
and wooden tables

decorated red, white, blue

masterpieces of heart
drawn from wells of inspiration
sparked by relation

Honor them, we do
with song
and ceremony
and speech

as a gesture
of appreciation
gratitude
debt

Honor them, we do
as they rise
to the sound of Taps
for fallen comrades
heroes
friends
family

Honor them, we do

I take it from your silence that you don't want to meet my grandpa. Thanks a lot. teaching's going ok. More kids, harder music, it's been four weeks and I think I know 4 names out of 180 kids. ya know, Chelsy I'm really gettin good at this name thing...what?
