birthdays

Two little two year-olds smiling with glee. One sat quietly reading her precious stash of newly discovered books. The other walked around somewhat overwhelmed by the array of people, yet smiling and saying “happy?” Yes, her mother replied – “happy. Happy Birthday for you.”

After enjoying finger foods and hearty amounts of laughter and conversation, we settled in to two birthday girls revealing their papered treasures. Clothes, dolls, toys, books – the plethora of gifts led to beaming smiles. After each gift, a tender-hearted “tank you” could be heard.

Songs were sung, candles blown out, and cake served. Two little two year olds sat in booster seats, covering themselves in chocolate-peanut-butter ice cream cake. Two little two year olds had a great birthday party.

This is what makes memories. Happy birthday Jocelyn and Bronwyn.

I was so glad you were there! You're becoming a regular tradition at my kids' birthday parties... We wouldn't know what to do without Renee around!

I bet the party was wonderful! I love the joy that small children have :-) P.S. Thanks for the birthday wish. It was good at home. I was there Saturday and Sunday and the morning of Monday. Now I am back at college. E-mail me or IM me if you want more info :) I am still praying for you.
