I walk in greeted by a pandemonium of people as they vacate the premises. Moments ago people rushed about in suits and fancy dresses, but now all is quiet. Although oddly silent, various sounds reach my ears.
drip…
drip…
dripping of the kitchen faucet, and
click…
click…
clicking of jammed ice in the icemaker.
These are the sounds of silence. Whirring computers, buzzing lights, and whistling fans. An eerie calm fills an empty house, yet such a silence is soothing.
Alone. Silent. Reflective.

Silence...what a treasure.
I truly enjoy my silent times and I purposely try to schedule these times throughout the day.
I only wish we could turn the noisy AC off at the office.
